~Insectaverse: An artistic tribute to insect life.~

A  3 week ongoing performance piece by post disciplinary artist Alexander Alien and interdisciplinary artist Eléa Orengo de Lamazière. It took place the mponth of May 2024, the exhibition aimed to grow and evolve like a garden as the artists played and produce daily within the space.

At the heart of our exhibition is the idea that the natural world, with its intricate designs and vibrant colors, serves as a source of inspiration for artists. Through the lens of bugs, plants, and flowers, we explore how these living organisms have shaped our understanding of design and function, and how they continue to influence our creative process.

Eléa Orengo de Lamazière is a South African interdisciplinary artist currently based in Barcelona. Her work is focused in the direction of the natural world as well as our direct visual perceptions within our surroundings. She works with light, sound, and video in site-specific contexts through the mode of play via exploration of ones senses. Eléa captures the world around her with the notion of everything is the same, everything is equal, each being and inanimate object deserve their representation and perspective to be seen.

Alexander Alien is a post-disciplinary artist focussed on a holistic process towards redefining visual and sonic landscapes. Creating context to assist in the articulation of an idea. Making language visible. In this exhibition, his work is focussed around a growing collection of paintings, drawings, sound pieces and instruction paintings that explore his core inspiration. Looking up, looking down, looking right in front of you. The natural world and it’s many wonders. A collection of bugs, flowers, petals and pollen.
